wirral bridges

wirralbridges

wirralbridges is a project of Advocacy in Wirral.

It helps people with enduring mental illness to  access opportunities (whether paid or voluntary) within the local business community.

It was set up—and is run—by people who have had personal experience of the obstacles faced when people want to return to work.

They understand the difficulties, and know how they can be overcome.

How wirralbridges supports people

Wirral Bridges supports people in getting back into employment by assisting them with

· access to training
· benefits advice
· form-filling
· drafting CVs
· interview training
· ongoing support in the workplace

Who is the service for?

wirralbridges is focused on helping people who have enduring mental health problems.   Clients are of working age, and will live on the Wirral.   Some may also have an additional visual / hearing, physical or learning disability.

Ideally, clients should have had some previous work experience, and be motivated to enter the workforce.

What wirralbridges offers employers and placement providers...

Our commitment to employers and placement providers is very important to us.  We appreciate the big step they are taking and the investment they are making—not only in the education of their staff, but also in the fight against society’s discrimination against people with mental illness.

We help and support employers along the path, and work to resolve any problems before they have time to grow.  We encourage employers to ask if they have any doubts.   If we can’t help directly, we usually know someone who can.

We also signpost employers to other agencies where required.  We can—and will—listen, and provide support where needed.

Client Views on wirralbridges

“You have helped me get back on the right track, so I am sure you can help lots more”.

“Keep up the good work!”
