Womens Group

Every Thursday afternoon 1.30pm to 3.00pm

Hi, my name is Lilian, and I would like to give you some information about a new Women’s Group which we will be running at our office base at Woodside.

Due to the expansion of our office premises, we are pleased that we can now offer other much needed services to people in Wirral who experience, anxiety, stress or depression, or who may just feel a little down, and isolated.

Other than the venue and time, I have not laid down any ground rules for the group, as I think it is important that the people who attend should be the ones who decide what direction the group should take, but one thing is for certain, there will be plenty of tea and coffee available.

I am aware that many women need some time to ‘off load’ their problems in a safe and friendly environment (including myself), and hopefully this is the time and place when it will be possible for them to do this.

However, I am hoping that the group will also have a ‘social’ side to it. Some of the ideas I have, include a ferry trip over to the Albert Dock for coffee, a walk along the waterfront (again, not forgetting the coffee), and perhaps some of the ladies, after getting to know each other a little better, may decide to
increase their involvement and go for lunch together, a trip to the cinema perhaps, or a bus-ride to Parkgate.

Our Treasurer, John, has kindly invited us to visit his garden, when the weather improves, and his wife, Ann, has offered us some scones (well should I say that John has offered the latter, on behalf of Ann).  John’s garden is lovely, and he opens it to the public once or twice a year as part of the National Gardens Scheme.  If people are interested, there are many gardens in Wirral to visit under this.

Anyhow, let’s see what happens.  I feel quite excited about it, and it is up to us to make it work to good effect.   You can just turn up for the group, or feel free to telephone us on 650 1530 for more information.

One thing I can promise is that you will be made very welcome.
